In this manual you can read how your beautiful MRA routes can be imported to your HD BoomBox infotainment system models pre 2019. If you have a newer Boombox, read Harley-Davidson - BoomBox GT or Harley-Davidson - Boombox Skyline-OS for the correct instructions.
Table of contents
Good to know
- If your route contains more than 49 waypoints, the system may freeze
- Has the system freezed? Turn off the bike and wait 10 to 20 seconds before restarting the bike;
- Sometimes the BoomBox reacts slowly when you have clicked a button. Therefore, give the system some time to process your command before you start clicking different buttons;
- The BoomBox only contains English as an available language for the text and voice instructions.
Export from the Routeplanner
- Attach your USB stick to a computer;
- Go to the website on your computer and open the route you want to import in the Routeplanner;
- Click on 'Save as' and select Harley Davidson Boom Box pre 2019;
- Go to your downloads on your computer and add the .GPX file to the top folder on the USB stick.
Importing on the HD Boombox
- Start the BoomBox system and wait until the menu opens;
- Connect the USB stick to your Harley Davidson;
- Click on Nav and go to the menu (top right);
- Click on Importand select your USB stick
- Can't find your USB stick? First check whether it is properly attached. If it still doesn't work after this? Then use another USB stick that is formatted as FAT32.
- Now select the desired route to import
- NOTE! A duplicate of each file will appear with the prefix "._" in the name. Ignore these files and do not select them.
- Select Route-to start route navigation
- NOTE! The BoomBox calculates the route between the placed waypoints itself, taking into account the route preferences of the device. So make sure that the waypoints are placed in such a way that the created route cannot suddenly change completely during navigation.
- Now click on the button on the right (between the arrows) to start the import. You may be asked for confirmation. Answer this with YES;
- When the import is complete, go back if necessary to import more routes;
- After importing, you can safely remove the USB.
Start navigation
- Open the menu and click on Nav;
- Click on Where to and then on More;
- All imported routes can be found here under Trips;
- Select the desired route you want to drive and click on Start;
- Wait until the BoomBox has loaded the route. You can see the progress at the top right;
- Click on Go and you are ready for the ride!
Navigation settings
If you click on the "list" icon during navigation, you will come to the navigation settings. Of course you should set this to your own preference. However, we recommend the following settings:
- Choose the 3d map;
- Choose the heading up view;
- Set the autozoom to normal.
